PONTIUS PILATE’S DECISION

A wild mob outside
Yelling “Crucify Jesus Christ.”
Pontius Pilate is advised
To look good in the people's eyes
To satisfy the mob
That's his job

Pilate knew that Jesus Christ
Was innocent in his eyes
No crime that he could find
Was done of any kind
But what about the crowd
They're so loud

THEN JESUS WAS CONDEMNED TO DEATH
ON THAT VERY DAY
A SHOCK TO ALL CHRIST'S FOLLOWERS WAS FELT
COMMITTED OF A CRIME THAT WASN'T EVEN HIS
GOD'S PLAN WAS NOT FOR CHRIST TO FREE HIMSELF

The crowd had got its way
But there's a rumor that stands today
that Pilate killed himself
For no comfort his mind had felt
Pleasing the crowd
Whose pleas were so loud

JESUS' WORD LIVES ON TODAY
FOR AL LTHE WORLD TO SEE
RIGHTEOUSNESS PREVAILS ALL THE TIME
WHEN WE PLEASE GOD AND NOT THE WORLD
ONE DAY WE KNOW WE'LL BE
IN HEAVEN WITH CHRIST FOR ETERNITY
SHOW THE WORD 

If I offered you the world right now, would you take it, would you take it
I want to hear the truth, so don't fake it, don't fake it
If you had to do God's will
Would the offer be attractive still?
Go inside your heart and feel what you really would do

SOME PEOPLE THEY SAY, IF WEALTH CAME THEIR WAY
THEY'D FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST'S LAWS ANYWAY
AND OTHERS, YOU KNOW, CRAZY THEY'LL GO
THEY'LL BREAK THE LAWS OF GOD THROUGHOUT THE DAY

So, what would you do if this test came to you, would you pass it, would you pass it
If power and gold were yours, would you amass it and not share it?
Or would you share your wealth with those
Less fortunate and full of woes
And show the world you’re someone who knows
How to follow the Lord

WITH THE LORD BY MY SIDE, HIS LAWS I'D APPLY
NO WORLDY TRAPS WILL MAKE ME LIVE A LIE
I'D HELP THOSE TO SEE, WHAT A GOOD LIFE CAN BE
WITH JESUS CHRIST WALKING ALONGSIDE ME
