Long Description: Stan Getzy Swings at Hot Club de France, Jazz Music, Swing Ensembles, download music clips, stock music downloads and royalty free music library

Keywords: There are several versions of how the Hot club de France was formed. The most generally accepted version amongst modern jazz historians is that the group evolved from a series of backstage jams led by Django Reinhardt, with Stephane Grappelli. However, bassist Louis Vola said in an interview that he found the Reinhardt brothers playing on a beach at Toulon. He invited them to jam with his own band, which included Grappelli. I worked occasionally with Diz Disley who worked for Grappelli who created their famous swing rhythm for me and I have recreated this sound for you. Disley formed his String Quintet in 1958 with a library based largely on that of the Quintet of the Hot Club of France; Diz's companion on many of the sessions was my friend guitarist Denny Wright. Diz passed away last year what a loss. This is to his memory we played at the Dorchester Hotel together under Peter fats Baxter.
