It's nights like these that we get carried away, you and I. A full blown myth somehow converted to trend, yet we don't know just how it began. Screaming loudly in the streets, singing songs of war and peace, you and I.  

How long? How long until we get what we're fighting for? How long? How long? We go over and over. Now that I'm older, regrets are in order. There's only you.

It's nights like these that we surrender in shame, you and I. I read your past. I had a hunch, should have seen that here in time you would point the finger at me.  Back and forth both sides will bleed, raising flags and storming streets, you and I.

So many excuses, I learned to deal with. The drama you brought this will surely outlive us.  You damn well know that I could care less. We waste time looking in.
