Oh how the years pass
Sand through an hourglass
And change, it comes so slow
Looking in the mirror
Wishing to see clearer 
All the things I should know

Where has my head been
Caught in this tailspin
I’m a glutton for punishment
Wondering where it went 
All the reckless time spent
Without a hint of sentiment

I’m having trouble seeing
All the beauty in this life

The pain, it cuts like a knife

No one else could love me
No one else could see the truth
No one else could pick me up 
And make me feel the way you do
No one else could save me
No one else could see me through

I want to stay here
This prison sanctuary
I call all my own
It’s comfortable you know
I live here alone
It’s like my pillow at home

Need you to plan my escape route
Please couldn’t you help me out
If the keys have all been tossed
