This is a traditional gospel song but with a new twist. It allows you to play Gospel music to anyone without mentioning religion. I was brought up Gospel Music and still think Mahalia Jackson is the Best nothing comes close to her. This is an instrumental influenced by her style. Get on Board.   Keywords: belief article of faith conviction credo creed doctrine gospel opinion persuasion precept teaching gospel evangelism Christianity Christian hymn Mormon Gospel Train Music one of the earliest known is not from the United States, but from Scotland. In 1853, Scotsman John Lyon published a song in Liverpool titled "Be in Time", the last verse of which mentions that the Gospel train is at hand. Lyon's book was written to raise funds for the Mormon emigration of the 1840s and 50s. In 1857, an editor for Knickerbocker magazine wrote about visiting a "Colored Camp-Meeting" in New York where a song called "The Warning" was sung which featured an almost identical last verse. "The Warning" used the melody from an old dance song which was also similar. The well known childrens song Coming round the mountain is also very similar and a host of other songs. The main expression is showing the fleeting moments of life and your chance to get the gospel train to eternity.
