Dembow Dominicano or simply Dembow is the Dominican variation and form of Reggaeton. Generally referred to as Dembow (rather than Reggaeton) — or Dembow Dominicano, to signal a certain national distinction — the Dominican artists and producers working in the style essentially proceed as if the Reggaeton boom never happened, following along the lines of the Reggaeton production style of mid-1990's in Puerto Rico. The name Dembow itself refers to the building block of the music, the riddim.
