For all those of the younger generation: who find my views absolute, my terms, outdated, my preferences dull, myself retrograded - my apologies. My apologies because it’s not your false

 Forgive me, I know you came from the place in the now: a place with the smart phones, PCs, internet and the selfies. A place with a student’s depth, national depth, High gas prices, high taxes, too much freedom, not enough freedom, gay marriage, women’s rights to choose. A place of food stamps and credit cards, a place of rape robbery and abuse. A place where shots going out and mothers cry.

Forgive me, I know sometimes I am indifferent. That is because I came from a different place then you are now. A place with cigarette machines, the soda pop and glass bottles. A place without the sit belts and helmets. Cruising down a high way sitting in the back of pickup trucks. Arms fanned out to the wind. A place of drive in rather than drive threw. A place where the kids feel safe and stay outside all day fishing and swimming, running around backyards and parks. Pretending that they are heroes.  A place where fathers teach their sons and mothers show their daughters a place where the families stay together for better or for worth.  I remember this place as if we were tomorrow’s yesterday.

I can’t help laughing at today’s youths for scarfing at those days. Thou there were no smart phones, PCs, or the internet. And the selfies were analog. We did have student’s depth, national depth, High gas prices, high taxes, too much freedom, not enough freedom, gay marriage, women’s rights to choose, food stamps and credit cards, rape robbery and abuse. Shootings and crying mothers.
