I didn't think about to much
Before I pressed send (and then my phone went)

So I tried to send my message again
I got the same reply
Just then, over in the corner,
My TV set, all by itself,
Came alive (and my TV set went)

So then I tried to call my friend
But I could not connect
I gave up, in the end, 
And went to bed.
'Bout fifteen minutes later
There comes this knockin' on my door
I got up wondering
"What the hell are they rousting me for?"
(and then the man said)
