On My Way Home

Eating from cans by a dying campfire…. this land is foreign to me
It’s not just the faces it’s the plants and trees….that seem to be looking at me
If I could be, then I would be
On my way home, on my way home….

Shadows & sun… thickets and field…a feeling that I can be seen
Jackals and lizards lurk on the ground…keeping their distance from me
Vultures buzzards, eyes in the sky…patiently waiting for me
If I could be, then I would be
On my ay home…..

There’s nothing new here, nothing under the sun
Our kind has been here before
We’re footsteps and shadows that pass in the night
Echoes of ghosts gone before

And if my should pass tonight… all I ask is you do what’s right
Take my body back home…..on my way home….
