Electric wheel is turning, I watch it changing hue,
Red fades into amber, green fades into blue,
Glistening evergreen tower casting shadows as they crawl,
Orbs of gold and silver reflect a million patterns on the wall,

It’s a strange season in a strange, cold world,

Thick clouds of angel voices as I walk familiar streets,
Diamonds falling from sky as the ground melt beneath my feet.
I drift past welcoming houses with colors dripping from the eves,
Odd shapes festoon the lampposts, lights bursting from the trees

It’s a strange season in a strange, cold world,

What is this strange vibration of brotherhood and peace?
People grooving all around me in love and harmony,

Prancing animals on the rooftops with jingling antler heads,
Laughing rolly-polly man in a coat of crimson red,
Inside the houses, gelatinous creations, transparent red and green,
Aromatic ecstasy of cloves and tangerines,

It’s a strange season in a strange, cold world,

Parade of stain glass children disappears into wooden doors,
Candles give their lives on altars and melt onto the floor,
