The story that I have here
Should come as no surprise
It has to do with my friend Bob
It has to do with LIES!

And you'll be in deep trouble
Before you have begun 
So let me tell you all about Bob
He lived just around the block
He liked his school but more than that
Our Bob was late for school
It seems a certain candy store had played him for a fool
Chocolate chips and drops and bars
A sweet treat triple feature
Munchin' never felt so good

Why what a shock my watch has stopped I have it's only eight!
Well Missus Johnson knew the time and
She was not impressed
To improvise the rest he said
I didn't want to tell you this but soon enough you'll know
It seems I was abducted by this funky UFO
You know I tried to earnestly to make it here on time
We travelled so incredibly fast - faster than the speed of light
It messed up my internal clock 
That's why my time's not right
I can't say why his teacher wasn't overly impressed
Bob's next stop was not the hop
Has anybody guessed?

The principal was sensitive and took Bob for his word
His faith was in his students and he trusted what he heard
He said "Bob when these things happen we have but one recourse
The Airforce they were quick to build a high security fence
They searched the land both high and low
But found no evidence
Then one suspicious officer took chocolate Bob aside
He said "Son what I think you've got us on is a magic carpet ride
Cried Bob "I didn't want to say but soon you'll know the score!
I escaped but just in time and boy it wasn't pretty.
He stopped the flight in just one bite and headed for New York City!"
Now the Airforce they were serious
They'd never live it down
To have some big green dinosaur
Lunchin' up the town
That Bob was full of blarney
So they summoned all the forces of the Navy and the Army

The UFO made headline news in all the checkout papers
The Army and the Airforce will search forevermore
And New York folks still lock their doors 
From the big green dinosaur
And Bob he's learned his lesson -
It can make you want to cry
He'll truth himself to trouble but
He will not tell a lie
But you know it makes no difference now
His reputation's poor
'Cause nobody that knows him can
Believe him anymore
You see - lies are like potato chips
You can never have just one
You're in too deep to let it sleep
As soon as you've begun
