Thirty-two year old Allan Vilhan (aka Cargo Cult) hails from Slovakia. A self-taught musician, Vilhan began composing his own music in 1998. He was the bass guitarist in the rock band Stirba from 1989-1992 and played keyboards in the alternative-rock band Navara (2000). Cargo Cult binds the modern sound of today with the atmosphere of 80s electronic music, stirred together with elements of Eastern music. Vilhan does all the instrumentation on his albums including guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, programming, and performs vocals, too.
Cargo Cult's work is a blend of ambient and beat-driven subtle transitions from track to track. Vilhan's recent releases include his first full-length album, Alchemy, and his latest album titled Vibrant. Influences include Massive Attack, Tangerine Dream, Art of Noise and Orbital, Leftfield, etc.
