High Child
High Child was formed over a decade ago at a school in South Derbyshire, UK. The line-up has changed so many times that only one member of the original band remains. The band initially played covers of 60s pop and 90s Britpop, and these styles soon influenced their original songs. High Child began busking and selling home-made demo CDs in 2003. To date, they have sold over 8,000 CDs this way. Their official debut album, Yesterday Today, was ranked #3 in Music Connection Magazine's 'Top 25 New Music Critiques' of 2008, and they have just completed their second official album.
The lineup at High Child includes Alastair 'Spud' MacBain - vocals, rhythm guitar; Alex Plowright - keyboards, backing vocals; Chris Gilmer - drums; Jafar Hassan - lead guitar; and Sam Dyer - bass, backing vocals.
