Michael Kobayashi
A talented multi-instrumentalist, Michael Kobayashi of California plays both electric and acoustic guitars, percussion, bass, keyboards, turntables, saxophone, and he programs beats. He got his start playing guitar with Barbara Long, former lead singer from the Grammy-nominated band Hiroshima, and he's worked in such diverse genres as Big Band Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Thrash Metal, Hip Hop, Roots Rock, Funk, and RnB. Michael has scored numerous films, plays, exhibits, a TV projects, including "How War Ends," "The Summoning," and "Ronin Boys."
A few highlights of Michael Kobayashi's career include composing music for "Eyewitness Photojournalist Stan Honda," "Lumpia," and "Horror House on Highway 6." Films he has scored have been shown at numerous festivals, including, Newport, Manhattan, Boston International, NY International, Hollyshorts, Poppy Jasper, Chicago International, Horror Quest, LA Fear, and Fantasy, Riverside, Sacramento, New Filmmaker's, and many others. Michael has recorded and performed with Brenda Wong Aoki, Mark Izu, Sammi, XL Middleton, Alex Wong, Moniquea, Reality Jonez, The South Bay Allstars, and the Rick Hollander Trio. He has also produced albums for Marry Me Judas and southern California Thrash Metal legends Insecticide.
