Despite playing Piano from a very young age, as a teeenager Rich Williams enjoyed most playing in classic rock cover bands as a Mark Knopfler-style guitarist. The guitarists who most influenced him included icons Eric Clapton and Van Halen. In the final years of school, Rich formed a band called 'Intrinsic' with three friends and his brother. They then produced an EP, 'The Cold Awakening' with very limited resources.

Since then Rich has written music for student film projects, animation videos and various other productions. He is currently working on a project with guitarist Jon Clarke and brother Neil Williams in a band called Second Floor Basement which is months away from releasing their debut album.
