Mundijong
Mikov formed MUNDIJONG in 1999. Having been a drummer since 1975 working with the likes of Danse Society, Blue Zoo, Big Bamboo, Neneh Cherry, U2, Hothouse Flowers, TLC, The Police, Omd and others.
He turned his vast memoirs into song and consolidates all of his many ideas for this band because 'the time seems just right' says Mikov. He works & writes with long term pal Nod who always wanted to do his own thing and without a doubt shows it on Mundijong's debut album.
Although they are influenced by upbeat rock music from the late 1960's their music is sometimes
pessimistic and often deadly apathetic but combines a mixture of humor and occasional silliness to counteract the impression of defeat.
Rob Peck injects vocal emotions, retaining melodies with great style. Mundijong seem commercial, but deliver more than the norm. Twisting and turning, the unpredictability of it all is a unique dynamic for the arrangements and doing it with such conviction that they really cannot be ignored.
