David Greathouse is an award-winning, Missouri-based songwriter. He started out in earnest as a writer during the ‘80s. Heavily influenced by Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor, Harry Chapin, Jackson Browne, Jim Croce, John Denver, and other lyrical Singer-Songwriters of the era, he considers himself a storyteller at heart. His own lyric craftsmanship has garnered significant local appreciation and his distinctive, compelling musical style is uniquely his. David works in the Folk, Folk Rock, Adult Contemporary, Pop, Indie, and Americana genres.
A warm, midwest summer night in July. The night ensues with leisurely abandon and its wild and varied creatures begin to stir. There is work to be done, but an absence of urgency in that purpose. Just another night in the eternal progression of being. Instrumental, New Age, Atmospheres
This piece started out in life as an exploration of ii V I progressions. But as it evolved it seemed to ask to be wrapped up in a bow and put on display. So this is what was borne of that rather academic beginning. Beautiful, but somehow a bit out of place. Just like Lilacs in January. Instrumental, Dramatic, Ethereal Music
The willow weeps in the garden for a future lost. It was either not meant to be or it was lost to tragedy. Either way, it will never be, and there will forever be an emptiness where that dream once lived. Instrumental, Dramatic, Calm Mellow Music
A bright, jangly visage of hope, renewal and second chances. Optimistic and driven to find the best in all things, especially in ourselves. Instrumental, Dramatic, Heartwarming Music
A celebration of life for a dear friend and mentor taken from us far too soon. A man who filled a great many hearts and souls with inspiration in our early adulthood. The course of so many lives were strengthened because of his presence in them. It is impossible to calculate the scope of his impact. Male Vocals, Singer/Songwriter, Contemp Singer/Songwriter
A light, airy and upbeat acoustic guitar and piano instrumental piece. I just rolls by like a cool summer morning. A nice place to be, know what I mean? Instrumental, Singer/Songwriter, Contemp Singer/Songwriter
Father time, ever fleet on his feet marks his presence in ever-increasing ways, with ever-decreasing subtlety. Instrumental, Dramatic, Calm Mellow Music
Well, Denny’s it ain’t. And you’re not gonna find that girl to take home to mamma in here. Too many smells in here to distinguish, be thankful you can’t. Six different kinds of trouble waiting for you, but misery loves company. So have a seat. Instrumental, Blues, Electric Blues
Confidently swaggering electric guitars just hashing it out with nothing to lose and nothing gain. Just jamming' for the sake of the jam. Try not to smile! Instrumental, Rock, Folk Rock
Sometime you just gotta set it all down and walk away. At some point, none of it is worth salvaging or taking with you. This is for those times. Instrumental, Blues, Electric Blues
Time to blow this popsicle stand. Get outta town. Hit the road. Burn rubber. The fuzz and an angry village is on your tail, so you best make it snappy. Instrumental, Comedy, Adventure Comedy
A victorious and totally synthetic march brimming with the redemption of emancipation. A new found freedom purchased by the sacrifice of generations past to secure a brighter, liberated future, finally seeing fruition. Instrumental, New Age, Atmospheres
