Richard Stagg studied shakuhachi with a Japanese master. He has given many shakuhachi concerts over the last twenty years including many solo and ensemble appearances in Japan. Richard is a student of the Kinko-ryu style of shakuhachi, which preserves a wide approach to both old and new music with a minimum of compromise. A talented and much admired composer, Richard plays instruments of his own construction, adding an authenticity to his elegant sounds.
