Robert Farrell
Ottowa composer and guitarist Robert Farrell has now produced six albums, and has been described by Billboard Magazine as “arguably the greatest undiscovered guitarist in Canada”. While no longer 'undiscovered', the “greatest guitarist” label still sticks. Robert brings us rock blues in the vein of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Clapton and ZZ Top, cushioned by smooth vocals reminiscent of Sting. His story-telling guitar and power-trio sounds have garnered extensive radio play on Canada AM, CBC LIVE, plus Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee.
With the 2004 release of the all-instrumental Elegant Chaos, Robert Farrell has now produced six albums, including Freedom For My Soul (1996), When the Banks of the Mississippi Run Dry (1997), Robert Farrell Express (2000), “Best of” AutoLoader (2002), Sun House Fury Part I (SHF) (2003) and the all-instrumental Elegant Chaos (2004).
This past February, Robert represented southeastern Ontario at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee, where the band showcased its blues-rock driven sound. It’s no wonder Robert’s been called “Canada’s answer to Johnny Winter, Robert Cray and Sonny Landreth.” And Robert and his musicians create a heady mix of rock n’ blues that can jack up almost any media project, including TV, Film, Documentary, Indie and smokin' hot commercials.

Blues Stevie Ray Vaughan style, take on "Take 5", build up to climax before deconstructing again, simple to complex to simple, could be guys getting together to build, move, haul, one guy to a few getting the job down, then leaving the scene one at a time, easy, relaxed, comradeship, hanging out, Instrumental, Blues Music, Texas Blues
Bluesy rockabilly instrumental, bouncy ride with fun double slide, energetic, twangy, think Butch Cassidy and Sundance, O Brother where art thou, chase scene - light rather than heavy and serious, Instrumental, Americana Music, Cajun Zydeco
Blues rock track, bluesy, confident, masculine, no pussyfooting around, doesn't need any rescuing but admits to having a good woman and will stay loyal to her, Male Vocals, Blues Music, Texas Blues
Blues rock track talking about wanting to be close to a woman, sexy, sensual undertones underscore the attraction he feels, masculine vibe, physical need, powerful emotions, Male Vocals, Blues Music, Texas Blues
Slow blues for night time, maybe driving in the rain - windshield wipers going back and forth, decision has been made to get away from a bad scene, home life, a crime, a woman, some indecision but finally resolute in going forward; could be sitting at a bar drinking slowly, deliberately - HEAT, Instrumental, Blues Music, Texas Blues
Soft lilting notes sound like a quiet running brook. Climaxes into a crescendo of sweeping sounds like a caress or a melancholy sigh. Moving haunting and melodic. Recalling a distant memory perhaps a sad pensive one yet beautiful at the same time, Instrumental, Classical Music, Classical Guitar
Bluesy instrumental guitar, melodic, evoking memories, nostalgic, remembering sweet times, guy thinking about his love- either ex or someone he is missing perhaps soon to see, strong enough to be a music motif within movie, evocative of what once was like "Love Story", "Dr. Zhivago" Instrumental, Blues Music, Texas Blues
Rock blues up-tempo ballad with strong chorus/hook about girl telling guy to go to Stronghold of Love with her to stay strong, stay the course, not give up. Hopeful, encouraging, power of love over adversity, could be couple on the run, guy walking to water, on beach/thinking of her/being inspired, Male Vocals, Blues Music, Texas Blues
Blues rock track condemns war and the decision makers who send young people to fight and die but do not ever go themselves. Heatseaker missile "Lying in the middle of the road" symbolic of the waste of war. Hard driving, critical, angry emotions. Excellent for docs, political thrillers, war flicks, Male Vocals, Blues Music, Modern Electric Blues
Bluesy instrumental, Like rain stopping with the sun coming out to mirror couple who's had a fight; girl has walked out, guy going after her - does not want to lose her; they make up in the end and all ends well. Instrumental, Blues Music, Texas Blues
Dynamic blues - moody slow to mid tempo Southern bluesy rock track. Emotional and slow steel guitar strumming. Creates images of legendary blues guitarists strumming tunes on an old guitar sitting on a bench in a rural wooden porch on a sweltering Southern afternoon. Instrumental, Blues Music, Texas Blues
Driving rock anthem to Jimi Hendrix. Guitar lead formidable matching lyrics about a "preacher who's been blessed". Bluesy, gutsy, rollercoaster, train ride that does not stop until the very end. Male Vocals, Blues Music, Texas Blues
Driving rock blues track, upbeat, fun, flirtatious, Guy says he'll show the pretty lady a good time if she comes over to his place. Southern blues guitar, driving, explosive, forceful, transmutes into fluid, languid tones then builds up again into a wall of wailing/talking guitar, cymbals, trills and bends. Good for opening credits of an action flick, edgy, agressive,, Instrumental, Blues Music, Texas Blues
Quintessential blues rock track talking about playing guitar a long time. Asking Jimi, Stevie, Ray Buchanan if he's doing it all right. A guitarist's plea/lament. "Are you guys okay with the way I'm doing it?" Could be anybody comptemplating their work and the time put into it. Worth it or not? Male Vocals, Blues Music, Texas Blues
A plea seeing the poor, the blind, but am I doing something about it or not. Consternation about the unfairness of life yet a personal strength that something should be/can be done by the individual. For a protagonist who is facing a dilemma between right and wrong. He needs to choose. Male Vocals, Blues Music, Chicago Blues
Bluesy slide guitar, Mississippi Delta, old style, in the vein of "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?, comedic in tone, gritty, has movement, deliberate, no nonsense, definitive, Instrumental, Blues Music, Delta Blues
Bar style blues, got a "big" grunt of a riff that sounds like a Big Foot/Sasquatch lurching along. Would fit a comedic chase scene, cops and robbers mashup, character purposefully setting out on a mission- albeit a haphazard one, Instrumental, Blues Music, Texas Blues
Southern boogie blues, super-charged guitar, driving yet melodic, anthem-like, fast-moving sounds like a river, masculine, confident, Moving rapidly through a forest with twists and turns, over a waterfall but always in control, car race sequence, passing almost hitting but winning in the end, Instrumental, Blues Music, Texas Blues
