E.D. Kennaway
Classical pianist Edward D. Kennaway trained at the Royal College of Music in London, gaining an ARCM Performer's Diploma. Credits include American Idol Rewind, Clinically Wild Alaska, Clean House Comes Clean, and other special TV and Film projects. A recent track was selected for the "Sit and be Fit" series on American TV, and he has arranged and edited commercial recordings for the Naxos and CPO labels. Edward’s influences include Elmer Bernstein, Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams, and his stepfather, Benjamin Frankel, who was a leading British composer for Film and Concert Hall.
Attesting to Edward D. Kennaway's brilliance and mastery, in the prestigious 2008 UK Songwriting Contest, two of Edward's compositions were finalists: "Fandango in Five" in the Instrumental category, and "On The Road To Somewhere" in the Folk/Country category. Having put forth 19 songs, another 15 of Edward's tracks were semi-finalists, and the remaining four were Commended Entries. These were in categories as diverse as Instrumental, Pop, Adult Contemporary and Open.
According to the contest organisers: "If you are a finalist you can tell the media that you beat around 6,000 other entries to achieve that position. Semi-finalists should say that their song was among the top 15 percent of over 6,200 songs."
