Born in Long Island, New York, Tom Jemmott started playing guitar at the age of 10 after hearing the Beatles. He later discovered Jazz and opened shows for such Jazz greats as Branford Marsalis, Yellowjackets, Spyro Gyra, and many others. Today Tom writes music for Film and TV dramatizations, with great diversity in several genres. He has composed the score to several films as well as advertising spots for ESURANCE and Sky Sports. Tom's music has appeared in various TV Commercials, Video Games and Feature Films, so he is a huge asset for our clients with projects in these areas.
Tom became the guitarist and musical director for top Jazz singer Belinda Womack and was voted Tampa Bay's Best Jazz Band in 1994. He performed in concert with legendary cornetist Nat Adderly and was the opening act for many of America's top Jazz artists. After recording a CD in 1998, Tom joined R&B singer Kasai and recorded Kasai's debut CD in 2000. Today he leads his own Jazz/Funk group Tom Jemmott Band and plays in the modern Jazz trio Thick As Thieves. Besides being an avid composer, Tom continues performing as a Jazz, Classical, Pop and Rock guitarist. His influences range from Wes Montgomery, Pat Metheny and John Scofield, to the rock sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Keith Urban and the Beatles, and the film music of Danny Elfman, James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer. Tom approaches every project with fire and passion.
