John Savage’s self titled release has received rave reviews from music industry critics. With local Upstate NY slide guitarist George Deveny producing, the project includes a virtual “who’s who” among upstate New York Musicians including David Olson, former Robert Cray drummer (Smoking Gun, Afraid of the dark, etc.). Frankie Talerico’s keys and Deveny’s soulful slide are the perfect compliment for Savage’s acoustic rhythms. Olson and bassist Steve Wargo’s rhythm tracks provide an eclectic backdrop; from swampy grooves to jazzy brushwork, the tracks are guaranteed to please.
