E. L. Mahon grew up on an Arkansas farm, but Classical oboe training at 13 landed him as the youngest member of The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. During and after his music studies at the Univ. of Arkansas and Berklee College of Music, he performed worldwide as a bandleader of Top 40 RnB bands, opening for Lou Rawls, Chaka Kahn, and other icons. E. L. [now retired from performing] lives in Colorado and plays sax and keyboards, creating lush, soulful Jazz with a fresh enlightenment that only comes with a life of observing and composing mellow sounds.
From the mid-1970s to 1991, E. L. Mahon toured with several Top 40 RnB bands performing in the US, Hawaii, Guam, The Philippines, Korea, Japan, Okinawa, Puerto Rico, Guantanamo Bay Cuba, and Panama. During these years, in addition to the above artists, he and his bands have opened for artists like Roy Ayers, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Bobby Blue Bland, Syl Johnson, and numerous other groups. During the 80's, E. L. called Hawaii home until moving to Colorado for the first time from 1991 to 1999 when he and his wife moved back to Hawaii.
In 2003, after having lived in Hawaii [again] for several years, E. L. and his wife, Debra, returned back to the mainland to live in Colorado again, and that’s when he began writing music again. Music is definitely both his muse and his passion. Fusing new sounds and orchestral elements, E. L. has created a soulful Jazz that enlightens the mind. Very fittingly, he has named the new genre “NueVision Jazz.” One of his tracks was recently used in the Rob Schneider film "The Chosen One."
It's light and airy with a really nice 3/4 beat. Just right for a tv or radio commercial. Coming out your front door on a beautiful day and feeling like it's going to be a great day. Instrumental, Childrens, Playful Novelty
Kind of funky, kind of groovy, kind of fun. Straight forward and upbeat with a happy feel. Some acoustic and electronic instruments make this composition a hit. Instrumental, Childrens, Childrens Instrumentals
Mischievous music about the playful antics of Penguins. A bit quirky with drammatic overtones. Small orchestra with bass clarinet opening. Perfect kids vidio game, cartoon or childrens comedy. Full symphony orchestra with playful, sneaky clarinet. Funny sweet innocent, for wee detectives or pranks, Instrumental, Childrens, Childrens Instrumentals
This little ditty features a bit of banjo and full ensemble and gives a unique playful, fun and kiddy like vibe. Like Sesame Street music or a commercial that shows kids frolicing and just being happy. Small towns, summertime, going fishing, Opie and Aunt Bea. Sweet innocent and wholesome, cartoon, Instrumental, Childrens, Childrens Instrumentals
This track was originally written for a particular cleaning ad but did not get picked up, thus the title. I was told that it would be better suited for children. So with that said, the track is written only with an acoustic guitar. Instrumental, Childrens, Childrens World
A nice little piece using only bass clarinet and pizzicato violas to give this instrumental a skip or hop-along feeling. Bunnies in springtime, hopping along a path or little kids at play. Innocent mischievous simple funny, brings a sunny smile. Cartoon comedy recess, playful quirky laughable. Instrumental, Childrens, Childrens Instrumentals
