Kev Lymn
In the late 1990s, Kev Lymn left his native Australia for Europe. While living in a small Irish village he began incorporating Celtic music and the Irish story-telling tradition into his laidback blues numbers. Soon he moved to Berlin and began touring in Europe and the USA with Berlin-based musicians. Kev's songs and lyrics reflect his adventures abroad, provoking a mythical quality. His guitar playing is characterized by a percussive rhythmic style, combining slide and Irish folk tunings on dobro and 12 string guitar, creating full chord voicings that resonate in his music.
After hitchhiking across Europe, Kev Lymn arrived in Berlin in the autumn of 1999 and began collaborating with various Berlin-based musicians. Musical tours out of Germany, across Europe and the USA soon followed. His song writing reflects his adventures and the experiences he gathered during these journeys. Kev's songs are penned from an outsider's perspective on different countries and cultures, and his lyrics are full of intelligent observation and have a distinctive thought-provoking mythical quality.
