California Composer Jim Underwood is a remarkably inventive multi-instrumentalist. As a touring musician and an independent producer he brings a jaw-dropping versatility and playful creativity to his work. As a former copywriter for a major East Coast AM-FM radio station, he understands the musical constraints of voiceover work as well as the nuances of incidental pieces. Through his association with Live Nation, he’s worked for numerous national acts including Bruce Springsteen, Norah Jones, Tori Amos, and others. We are psyched to have Jim on board with his hot new tracks!
Jim Underwood often refers to himself as a singer/songwriter and obscure novelist. Actually, his fiction has been published by Warner Books in the United States and overseas and by both Crown and E.P. Dutton. (non-fiction) He’s currently writing a screenplay, but assures us his first love is music.

Slip back into the mists of a forgotten time. Sense the mystical poignancy of a lost way of life. Close your eyes and see the ghostly images of Cherokee braves as they move through the shadowy forests of the Smokey Mountains. Hear the rhythms of the hunt. Then listen as the dream steals away. Instrumental, Dramatic, Ethereal Music
Easy, serenely slow moving melodic elements floating over a gently relentless rhythm. It's early morning in L. A. Perhaps the action hasn't started yet, or maybe he's quietly leaving her place... Pull your jacket around you. Step out into the cool, gray, first light. The mood is set... Instrumental, Dramatic, Calm Mellow Music
A grand piano spills poignant rolling chords into the arms of subtle but building strings. A theme for that moment before the epiphany that turns things around, or for the heartbreaking realization of loss. Perhaps, for a gripping funeral scene or the overhead shot of a decimated battlefield. Instrumental, Dramatic, Contemplative Music
A very quiet and contemplative track utilizing a grand piano supported by subtle strings. As useful for inferring the wonderment of a starry night as it might be for dramatizing a scene of great pathos, grief and suffering. A meditative moment, both bittersweet and yet thought provoking. Instrumental, Dramatic, Contemplative Music
