Most composers who use virtual instruments have heard of Native Instruments' software piano THE GIANT. In reality, The Giant is the Model 370, the World's Largest Upright Piano, designed and built by renowned piano maker David Klavins. Standing two floors tall and weighing more than two tons, this unique instrument has rich overtones, unlike any other piano.
In 2015, noted Composer and Pianist Milana Zilnik had a chance to play "The Giant." Deeply moved, Milana says "When I touched "The Giant" for the first time, this very piece was born under my fingers. We called it "The Piano As Big As a Tree." So inspired by the experience, she dreamed composing an entire collection of music for this "extraordinary" piano. This year her dream came true!
Now, Milana has produced this Music Video, capturing all the mystery and depth of emotion that she felt playing this magnificent instrument for the first time. For the video, a special theatrical replica of The Giant was built and placed into a forest setting.
