Hello mister sunset, good to see you again, 
Hello mister sunset, how have you been?
We've been good friends, as long as I can recall, 
Together 'til the end, or 'til the first of us falls,

Hello mister sunset, you always treated me right, 
That's why I come to see ya, most every night,
It's good to have someone, upon whom you can rely, 
Through thick and thin, always honest, never lie,

I think we got together, 'bout the time I was five, 
Now we're both a lot older, glad we're both still alive,
Whenever I had a bad day, or when my day was good, 
Every evening you gave me, the best that you could,

I'm sure gonna miss you, when I am gone, 
Hope you'll miss me too, I suppose you'll get along,
I know people don't thank you, as much as they should, 
They take you for granted, you sure are good,
