Such a surprise
You walk around the bend
As the snow flies
What brings you back again to take my hand and light my skies
Such a surprise

You’re buying gifts
Once there was one for me
A Holiday trip
Has brought you back to these familiar streets and family ties 
Such a surprise

There was a time when we were one
It felt like we’d never come undone
Two fools believed their young love just might last, 
But the moment came, the moment passed.

Such a surprise
Nobody gets the blame
Looking back I
See all the signs were plain but got denied, so at the time
Such a  surprise

Who knows how long a love will last?
Your future soon becomes your past.
Just when you think you’ve found your true best friend
The lights come up, the music ends

Such a surprise
To fall in love again
After you left
I walked a lonely lane till someone new brought me inside
Such a surprise.
