This well known and well-loved piece from perhaps the best known and one of the most prolific composers of all time, is played competently here by pianist Pat Holmberg. This is a soothing, comforting prelude. Instrumental, Classical Music, Baroque Period, Johann Sebastian Bach
Hauntingly familiar, this piano piece has an unforgettable melody, and ranges in mood from whimsical and delicate to moving, lush and full in the style of the romantic period at its most wonderful. In ABA form, the 2 "A" parts are the calm ones, while the middle "B" part is fuller and a bit faster. Instrumental, Classical Music, Romantic Period, Claude Debussy
This is classified as a 'novelty' tune, but it's very similar to early ragtime piano music. Composed in 1921 by Zez Confrey, there are places in this that sound just like a kitten bouncing into the keys and out again. It's very descriptive of that in a fun, tongue-in-cheek way. Instrumental, Jazz Music, Ragtime
Ragtime piano, toe-tapping, fun, upbeat, cheerful, reminiscent of the "roaring twenties" in American history before the Depression. Lively and certain to raise a person's spirits. Instrumental, Jazz Music, Ragtime
This was a favorite standard of jazz musicians in the 30's and 40's-and to this day with groups who still play tunes from that era. It was used for sing-alongs in those days before TV when people would gather around an upright piano in someone's living room and sing for entertainment in the evenings, Instrumental, Americana Music, Americana Roots
Christmas piano music, classic Holiday song with a religious theme, can also be sued for Christmas pop projects, this song has been covered by countless artists including America and Jewel. Instrumental, Christmas Music, Christmas Piano
Elegant and tender piano solo. A soft, simple rendering of this iconic and religious Christmas carol. Roaring fireplace, wrapping presents, hanging mistletoe, kids playing, carving the turkey, passing the cranberry sauce. Holiday traditional music at its finest. Happy families and kids together. Instrumental, Christmas Music, Christmas Piano
A popular two-step tune from the early 20th century, played here in a "stride" piano style. Has a good steady beat, and is great for singing along or dancing if you want to. Full of nostalgia from anyone born before 1935. Instrumental, Jazz Music, Ragtime

This is a World War 1 song - played here on acoustic piano without lyrics. The melody was widely known at the time and for many years later - it has a tenderness and nostalgia which comes through in this performance. Instrumental, Americana Music, Americana Roots
This rather short piece from Tchaikovsky's 'Album for the Young' is descriptive of a bird chirping. With that little 'chirping' motif, that master composer creates a melody which continues throughout, with only a few measures that are a little different. Instrumental, Classical Music, Romantic Period, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
This starts out with pizzicato strings, as raindrops. They become more intense, and then other instruments join until it develops into a huge storm. It then calms down before the quiet ending. Instrumental, Americana Music, Americana Roots
In contrast to the first movement of this suite - Spring Creek - this is descriptive of the Colorado river. The Colorado is a big river, and so moves slower than a small creek. It is massive, and I have tried to convey that quiet strength in sound. Instrumental, Americana Music, Americana Roots
A simple acoustic piano track with a memorable melody which is fairly familiar. It is from the album "Woodland Sketches" by early American composer Edward Macdowell. It has a nice fresh, clean, uncomplicated sound. Instrumental, Classical Music, Romantic Period
A short, simple piece for piano which has a lovely melody. That melody and the harmonic structure underneath it take some fresh, unexpected turns that elevate this charmer to a real work of art. Instrumental, Classical Music, 20th Century
Melodic and with warmth, this track exudes a calm strength - unhurried and confident. There is a more tumultuous part in the middle, and then it sinks back into the same quiet feeling of the beginning. Instrumental, Classical Music, Classical Period, Ludwig van Beethoven
A nice warm melody on this track, combined with the title makes one wonder if perhaps Schumann was thinking of this wife at the time. Their love story is one of the most famous in music history, and certainly she would have played this piece. Instrumental, Classical Music, Romantic Period, Robert Schumann
This is one of some piano pieces I'm writing to honor close friends - both deceased and living. I've tried to capture in sound unique characteristics of them. Marshia had an infectious laugh, which I have tried to show in the middle part of this piece. First & last parts are more mellow & flowing. Instrumental, Classical Music, 21st Century
Descriptive of a bubbling creek played by woodwinds, which then gives way to a catchy syncopated melody played by the glass harp. This is upbeat and cheerful all the way through. Instrumental, Americana Music, Americana Roots
Fur Elise is one of the most well-known of all of Beethoven's piano compositions. It is a beloved melody by one of the world's best composers of memorable melodies. It moves along rather quickly throughout. 2 contrasting sections are interspersed between the three statements of that famous melody. This is a melodically-driven acoustic piano piece, with a strong and consistent rhythmic pattern underneath that melody, which is actually singable. Nice lush jazz-type chord progressions throughout. Instrumental, Classical Music, 21st Century
This is one of the most familiar of Mozart's piano sonatas. Almost everyone has heard at least the first part of this sonata - it has one of those unforgettable melodies. Definitely from the classical period, it has that melody on top, with an accompanying pattern on the bottom. Instrumental, Classical Music, Classical Period, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
This is a short, simple, two-line piece in the minor mode. There is definite melodic direction here, and it goes into the major mode for a short time in the middle, then settling back into minor. It is warm, comforting and uncomplicated - beautiful in its simplicity, Instrumental, Classical Music, Baroque Period
