Lonnie Williams began singing the blues at home, entertaining her mom and dad’s friends. Soon her dad had her singing at house parties, while he played drums and she played keyboards and sang. Next, Lonnie began playing keyboards with different local bands, but her love for gospel music was never forgotten. As she grew closer to God, she began backing away from the blues scene. In the late 70s, she moved to New York City where she got back into singing in various nightclubs. Today, Lonnie's strong, soothing vocals offer uplifting messages through her memorable gospel music.
Lonnie Williams has had many struggles in her life and always used music as a comfort zone. She once heard a preacher say, “You’ve got to go through in order to come out.” She believes that through her music, she can touch someone’s soul and introduce deliverance to each person who hears her musical message. Through Lonnie's music, she offers a respite and transcendence to a more soulful place on this earth.
