Texas composer and musician Gordon McLeod has performed all over the US, Ireland, and France as a solo artist, band member, and recording session multi-instrumentalist. He currently plays with the highly successful World Roots acoustic band Beyond The Pale, which he co-founded, along with The Aisling String Trio and The Texas Gypsies. Gordon is also a renowned traditional American and Irish violinist and fiddler, well known for his popular records of original fiddle-based music. His authentic, down-home songs have been featured in numerous film projects and compilation albums.
Gordon McLeod's work ranges from smokin' hot fiddle-based Celtic influenced tunes and Gypsy Jazz style acoustic Swing to his original songs, which includes the award-winning "Dog year" for which he won the 2008 Nacogdoches New Traditions Americana songwriting contest. “Hester" was a 2006 winner that was featured on Beyond the Pale's album Queen of Skye. He has recorded and produced all of Beyond The Pale’s releases, including their latest CDs "Pale-ontology" and "The Music Plays Me,” and he just completed an album of original acoustic Swing featuring his sophisticated Jazz violin and driving acoustic rhythm guitar. Gordon has also worked as producer and engineer for numerous other artists.
