Craig McConnell is definitely not an artist who exists in one musical dimension but strives to explore and discover the many that dwell within the human heart. He is not only a studio artist composing for feature films, documentaries, and TV commercials, but also a powerful live performer as composer, lead guitarist and lead vocalist of a progressive rock band. His work is known for its extreme dynamics, poignant melody and depth of emotion.
From the rich traditions and hauntingly beautiful music of his native Scotland, Craig McConnell’s sonic embrace is both deep and wide. Craig is an accomplished rock guitarist, film composer and something of a “chameleon” within the world of music. Working in an impressive variety of styles and genres, rock, jazz/fusion, new age and classical, are but some of his many musical colours. His artistry reaches far beyond the realms of the technically and musically accomplished guitarist, for he has enjoyed international success as a composer and arranger for both film and live performance, having produced music for productions in both the East and West coast of the United States, and also in Europe, New Zealand and Japan.
Having spent 5 years in the US, Craig relocated to Switzerland in 2005 where he works as a professional musician and film composer, having scored music for films featuring the work of the Swiss world leading extreme sportswoman Géraldine Fasnacht (“Dessine-Moi Une Ligne”, “Une Femme Choucas” and "La Haute Route des Pentes Raides" in production).
He is also composer, lead guitarist/vocalist of the progressive rock band CYNOSURA.
