When I look back to all the trouble and difficulties I was going through
I feel the aching once again, I’m shivering and I don’t know what to do
Was I wrong to go this way?
Should I turn back and tell them I am to blame for all confusion around me?
Or if I got the choice would I do the same?

Well, I can still see all their faces staring at me like a greedy beast
While the crowd is talking about me, this high society gathered for the feast 
Oh, what a nice fancy dress-ball, all the same make-ups, all the same costumes
Well, I can still hear all their laughter, see their pale faces, smell their sweet perfume

I’m going on with all the memories
I know that I will remember everything
My mind is filled up like a bottle up to the brim with my favorite gin
Yes, one day I will taste it
Some precious draught and I will having fun
It will remind me of the past and of the trail that I’ve been on

Well, I don’t say that I am angry
I was feeling lonesome
But I now I understand and realize that it was right to carry on that way without a helping hand
Yes, you’re lucky if there is someone how cares for
 you when you’re feeling down
But even if there is nobody you can do everything on your own
